LOOK Cycle has updated its Geo CityVISION pedal, adding integrated biomotion lighting to a wide-platform flat designed for urban riding.
The concept is straightforward: instead of relying only on static lights mounted to the bike, the system places rechargeable LEDs at the pedals, where the rider’s movement is more immediately recognizable. LOOK claims the moving lights make cyclists up to 5.5 times more visible than a steady seatpost light, with 360-degree visibility and recognition up to 900 meters. The light units are removable and USB-C rechargeable.
LOOK has simplified the user experience with a single-button interface and a magnetic push-pull system for instant light installation. The rechargeable light features four modes, tailored for day and night, including Steady, Power Steady, Day Flash, and Night Flash settings. In Steady mode, riders can expect up to 15 hours of battery life, and up to 60 hours in Day Flash. A smart sleep mode preserves the battery when the bike is stationary.

The pedal body is composite with a Chromoly+ spindle, internal bearing system, IPX7 waterproof rating, and a 100 x 103mm contact surface. LOOK uses a multidirectional diamond grip pattern with varied heights across the platform, aimed at keeping everyday shoes planted without turning the pedal into a shin-shredding MTB platform.
Why Pedal Lights Make Sense
Most experienced cyclists already understand the value of a good front and rear light setup even in daylight settings. The Geo CityVISION adds another layer by emphasizing biomotion rather than relying only on static visibility.
A flashing seatpost light can make a bike more noticeable, but pedal-mounted lights move with the rider’s legs. That motion helps communicate “cyclist” more quickly, especially at intersections, junctions, and other places where drivers have to process movement from multiple directions. Of course, pedal lights do not replace a reliable, high lumen front and rear light, reflective gear, or defensive riding habits. They work best as one part of a broader visibility setup.
The Bottom Line
These pedals make sense for riders who use flat pedals and spend time in traffic. They put visibility in a biomechanically useful place, work with everyday footwear, and add conspicuity from multiple angles without requiring a separate mounting system.
The Geo CityVISION pedals are available now and priced at $95.
