Manchester United will hope to take a huge step towards Champions League qualification when they host Brentford in their next Premier League outing.

The Red Devils sit third in the top flight standings after a narrow 1-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday night, leaving Michael Carrick’s side ten points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea in the race to finish in the top five and qualify for the Champions League next term.

Carrick will expect to see his side pick up a positive result against the Bees, but in the meantime it is emerging that Man United sent scouts to watch an in-demand Premier League forward over the weekend.

According to TEAMtalk, Man United sent scouts to watch Bournemouth striker Eli Kroupi in action against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.

The Frenchman joined the Cherries from French side Lorient during last year’s January transfer window, but spent the second half of last term on loan at his former side.

Since arriving on the south coast last summer, the 19-year-old has enjoyed a fine debut season in English football, netting ten goals in 28 Premier League games.

The report claims that his impressive form has attracted interest from several clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Man United had scouts in attendance at St. James’ Park on Saturday, though, to watch the Cherries beat the Magpies 2-1.

While the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on the likes of Sandro Tonali, Alex Scott, Lewis Hall and Bruno Guimaraes, the report suggests that their primary reason for having scouts in attendance was to watch Kroupi.

The France under-21 star is contracted to Bournemouth until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, but the report suggests that the south coast side could face a battle to keep hold of the youngster beyond this summer.
