Maple Leafs assign prospect Miroslav Holinka to AHL’s Toronto Marlies
The Toronto Maple Leafs have assigned forward prospect Miroslav Holinka to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, the team announced on Saturday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have assigned F Miroslav Holinka to the Marlies.

Holinka is the latest prospect to join the Marlies for the remainder of the 2025-26 season after Tyler Hopkins and Harry Nansi were signed amateur tryout contracts on Monday. At the time of filing, neither of them have made their AHL debut with the regular season winding down and a few other Marlies up in the NHL.

This season was Holinka’s second year of eligibility in the WHL and he put together an impressive campaign with the Edmonton Oil Kings. He finished with 80 points (37 goals and 49 assists), which was good enough for second on the team in scoring behind only Lukas Sawchyn. Holinka’s playoff run was even more impressive despite the Oil Kings being eliminated in the first round by the Saskatoon Blades. He is currently leading the WHL playoffs in goals with seven and tied second in scoring with 11 points behind only Brock Souch.

Originally selected in the fifth round 151st overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, Holinka has emerged as one of the Leafs’ most promising prospects in an otherwise shallow pool of talent. After spending two seasons with HC Ocelari Trinec in Czechia, Holinka recorded 19 goals and 45 points in 47 games with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League during the 2024-25 season. He also recorded a goal and four points in seven games with Czechia at the 2025 World Juniors, where he played extended minutes in a scoring-line role.
