Maven Says Triple H’s Relationship With Stephanie McMahon Was “Convenient” For His WWE Career

Maven is not holding back when it comes to his complicated history with Triple H, and one part of that story involves Stephanie McMahon.

During a new video on his YouTube channel, Maven opened up about why he has taken shots at Triple H over the years. He explained that his early interactions with The Game were actually positive, saying Triple H was helpful, welcoming, and even gave him his first pair of wrestling boots. However, Maven said things started to feel different as Triple H’s power backstage grew.

Maven said wrestlers in WWE noticed Triple H getting closer to Vince McMahon’s inner circle, and that naturally led to people questioning his relationship with Stephanie McMahon. Maven made it clear that he was not trying to judge whether love was involved, but he said the situation was still very convenient for Triple H’s career.

“But guys knew, guys felt, and guys would talk about how Triple H was meandering his way into Vince’s good graces. Guys would constantly question his relationship with Steph. And I’m never going to be the determining factor of love, whether it does or does not exist. It’s not my job. But I do know the definition of the word convenience. And that was a convenient relationship for Hunter. What I do know is Vince McMahon owned the WWE and Stephanie’s placement at her father’s side made it mighty convenient for Triple H.”

That is a pretty strong statement from Maven, especially because he was around WWE during a time when Triple H was still an active top star while also becoming more connected to the McMahon family. Maven admitted that some wrestlers backstage would blame Triple H’s success on his relationship with Stephanie, especially if their own careers were not going the way they hoped.

Maven also admitted that he was part of that locker room mindset at times. He said it was easier for some wrestlers, himself included, to blame Triple H’s position instead of accepting where their own careers were going.

This is not Maven saying Triple H did not work hard. In fact, he gave Triple H credit for taking his job seriously and carrying himself like a professional. Still, Maven made it clear that a lot of people in WWE saw the relationship as something that helped Triple H’s power grow behind the scenes.

Years later, Triple H is now WWE’s Chief Content Officer and one of the most powerful people in the company. Maven said he has moved past any bitterness from that era, but he clearly still remembers how things felt backstage when Triple H was rising through the system.

What do you think about Maven saying Triple H’s relationship with Stephanie McMahon was “convenient” for his WWE career? Do you think he has a point, or is this just old locker room frustration coming back up? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments section below.
