  • The game’s multiplayer has modes described as “different”
  • Orchestral original soundtrack clip released

Maverick Games – an all-new UK-based driving game developer – has published what’s believed to be its second in-engine image from its upcoming inaugural release.

The outfit is led by ex-Forza Horizon chiefs, and confirmed its existence in January 2023, followed by an explanation that it is making a AAA narrative-driven experience 16 months later.

In February of this year, it published its first in-game image – a trio of licensed Porsches, with modifications, in the wake of a split with publisher Amazon.

Today, 20th May 2026, Founder and Creative Director at Maverick Games, Mike Brown, published to the studio’s nascent Discord what looks like a dashboard of yet another Porsche.

We believe this to be from a 911 sports car, either of the 930 (‘G-body’) or 964 generations, thanks to the distinctive dial layout. We would edge towards the former in Turbo guise.

The shot is extraordinarily detailed, showcasing the now-retro dials and exacting material recreation.

Five days ago, on its own podcast, Maverick explained some of the game’s online multiplayer testing – although no definitive details at this juncture.

“Especially around this time in the project, as all the pieces are coming together, we have the very fun task of playing multiplayer, and sometimes that means roping in people from other areas of the team that maybe haven’t spent a lot of time playing multiplayer,” explained Tom Butcher, Executive Producer and Co-Founder at Maverick, on the latest episode.

“It’s such a joy to see people actually having real-world fun in that environment.

“You don’t often get to play multiplayer sat next to a bunch of people, which definitely helps. It is genuinely a real delight and is really fun.”

Brown went on to describe the mode as “a bit different”:

“When you’re all playing together, there are bits of it that make sense because you’re actually live communicating with each other.

“So those people who are making that mode understand the nuances of it and scoring systems, but a ‘cold’ player coming in doesn’t really understand that and you realise that the game wasn’t actually telling them at all.

“A lot of the game design was happening verbally, but it was like ‘no no, you’ve got to put that on screen’.”

Elsewhere, a brief clip of an orchestra has been released playing part of the game’s original score, which sounds cinematic in its composition. A longer clip of the music was confirmed for release in an upcoming podcast episode.

No release date, window or game name has been provided for the upcoming cross-platform game presently.
