24 hours after being given a date on which to produce its evidence for a Right of Review, Mercedes has dropped the appeal.
The hearing was due to take place on Saturday, at which time the stewards would determine the admissibility of the Gertman team’s petition, and then, if admissible, determine if there was “significant and relevant new element which was unavailable to the stewards at the time of the decision concerned”.
Tonight the stewards issued a brief statement.
“The Stewards have been informed by Mercedes that they are withdrawing the petition for review in respect of the decisions of the stewards of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix, breach of Article B1.6.3a of the FIA F1 Regulations in relation to Car 63,” it read.
While Mercedes has yet to give a reason for its decision, McLaren, and it is believed Red Bull, have lodged notices of appeal.
