BANGKOK, Thailand — Nakhonratchasima 3M Films delivered a commanding performance on April 26, defeating Mehregan Noor Club in straight sets to open their campaign at the AVC Women’s Champions League 2026.
The Thai side secured a 3–0 victory (25–11, 25–12, 31–29), showcasing control in the opening two sets before holding off a late challenge in the third.
Nakhonratchasima established early dominance, capitalizing on strong offensive execution and disciplined floor defense to take the first two sets comfortably. Mehregan Noor Club struggled to find rhythm, committing a number of unforced errors that allowed the Thai side to build momentum.
The third set proved more competitive, with Mehregan mounting a stronger resistance and extending the set. However, Nakhonratchasima maintained composure in the closing exchanges to seal the win and complete the sweep.
Sasipapron Janthawisut led Nakhonratchasima’s attack with 15 points, including 12 from attacks along with one block and two service aces, anchoring a well-balanced team performance.
Nakhonratchasima also made a strong impact at the net and from the service line, finishing with eight blocks and seven aces, while forcing 24 opponent errors to maintain control throughout the match.
Backed by a strong hometown crowd, the Thai club capitalized on the support inside The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi Convention Hall, using the energy to sustain pressure on their opponents.
With the win, Nakhonratchasima strengthens its position in Pool A as it looks to advance to the knockout stage and move closer to one of the tournament’s two qualification spots for the FIVB Volleyball Club World Championship.
