Inter have confirmed that they have parted company with senior squad members Yann Sommer, Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian whose contracts expire today: ‘Thank you for everything’.
Inter say farewell to Sommer and Acerbi
37-year-old goalkeeper Sommer joined Inter in the summer of 2023 and has served as the club’s no.1 for the last three seasons, making 100 Serie A appearances during his time in Italy, 139 across all competitions.
The former Switzerland international won two Serie A titles, a Coppa Italia, a Supercoppa Italiana and reached the 2024-25 Champions League final during his time in San Siro.
Centre-back Acerbi, 38, has been with Inter for one year longer than Sommer, joining in 2022, and made a total of 101 Serie A appearances during his time with the club (148 across all competitions).
His personal Nerazzurri trophy cabinet includes two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia winners medals, two from the Supercoppa Italiana and two runners-up medals from the Champions League in 2022-23 and 2024-25.

Inter have released long statements thanking both players for their efforts over the years: ‘Thank you for everything’.
It is also the final day in Nerazzurri colours for Darmian, who has spent the last six seasons in San Siro, making 150 Serie A appearances and 218 across all competitions. He ends his time in Milan with three league titles, three domestic cups, three super cups and two runs to the Champions League final.
