Preview & Predictions for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV:
On tap for today’s event, the six-woman tag team match doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. If Rhea Ripley’s team wins, they’ll pin Michin or B-Fab as sacrificial lambs and Jade Cargill will still get her rematch against Rhea Ripley at Clash in Italy as has been talked about. If Cargill scores a victory for her team (because the other two certainly won’t get the pin), even if she gets a three-count on Ripley herself, it just keeps Cargill positioned as the No. 1 contender and the commentary team talks about how she’ll potentially win the title back. Whichever side WWE goes with will lead to the same end result.
It is far more likely Ethan Page beats Penta to win the Men’s Intercontinental Championship than The Street Profits will beat The Vision for the world tag team titles. Penta’s held it long enough (but it doesn’t mean he needs to drop it) to not look weak, and Page would do a great job with that belt. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins becoming tag team champions right now over WWE’s more prioritized tag team just doesn’t make sense to me, as WWE Creative struggles to do anything with tag team titles unless they’re on the current pet projects.
I don’t think Brie Bella and Paige will lose the women’s tag team titles back to The Irresistible Forces, and I expect Sol Ruca to beat Becky Lynch in order to earn a future shot at the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
