PFL star Dakota Ditcheva isn’t a Ronda Rousey supporter anymore after her controversial comments about Khamzat Chimaev.
UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey is just hours away from her return to Mixed Martial Arts for the first time since losing to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. Rousey and fellow women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano headline a stacked card on Saturday in Los Angeles, put together by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
Ahead of her comeback fight, Rousey has found herself in several verbal feuds, including with UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell and former middleweight titleholder Khamzat Chimaev. After Chimaev belittled Rousey’s UFC fighter pay criticism, Rousey went off on Chimaev at the final pre-fight press conference before the Carano fight, calling him ‘Cleft-Lip Lincoln’ in reference to Chimaev’s birth defect.
Rousey’s remarks raised eyebrows, including from one of the best female fighters in the world who could potentially make her way to the UFC.
PFL’s Dakota Ditcheva scolds Ronda Rousey after Khamzat Chimaev comments
In a recent tweet, Ditcheva reacted to Rousey’s comments and didn’t hold back.
“[Ronda’s] comment towards Chimaev regarding his cleft palate was absolutely disgraceful,” Ditcheva said of Rousey.
“I am no longer a fan. As a mother, you should know better. The amount of young children navigating difficulties like that while you sit on a worldwide stage mocking it.
“Do better.”
An hour after receiving fan criticism and trolling regarding her initial tweet, Ditcheva doubled down on her Rousey comments.
“For all my Twitter trolls…as a young woman and fighter, I have always looked up to Ronda and been inspired by her. Without being disrespectful, Chimaev, Sean and Jon were never my role models and not people I looked up to. I simply appreciate their skills in the cage,” Ditcheva posted.
As of this writing, Rousey hasn’t responded to Ditcheva’s comments. Ditcheva hasn’t fought since defeating Sumiko Inaba at PFL Champions Series 2 last July.
