Piper Niven has finally revealed why she’s been missing from WWE television for so long.
After being out of action since August 2025, Niven shared a photo from a hospital bed this week and revealed she underwent neck surgery in California. The WWE star said she had an anterior discectomy, a procedure done to remove a damaged disc in the neck. Even with the serious surgery, Niven still managed to joke about it online.
“I went to California and all I got was this lousy anterior discectomy.”
But the rest of her message got a lot more emotional as she opened up about how difficult the last eight months have been. Niven also thanked the people who helped her through what she described as a “really scary time.”
“I have so much I want to say about the past 8 months but we can get to that later.”
“Pain and heartbreak are incredible teachers and the lessons I have learned from this will stay with me forever.”
The good news is she says she already feels better after surgery.
“I am so grateful to wake up from surgery already feeling better and I know I am coming out the other side of this so much stronger for the experience.”
Niven hasn’t wrestled since defeating Charlotte Flair on SmackDown in Dublin last August. At this point, WWE still hasn’t revealed when she’ll return, but fans now finally know just how serious the situation really was behind the scenes.
