Fightful Select has reported that despite the emotional moment following her match at Backlash and the social media response that followed, Asuka may not have wrestled her final match in WWE.
This comes following speculation on her status with the company after facing Iyo Sky, a match made after the departure of Kairi Sane.
Sane had been a major part of the storyline going into the premium live event, before being one of many departures in the wake of roster cuts following WrestleMania 42.
Asuka, on the other hand, is said to have signed a long-term WWE contract during the summer of 2024, though the exact length of that deal is unknown.
People within WWE reportedly spoke very highly of Asuka professionally and personally, with many praising her reliability and overall body of work.
To date, Asuka has been with the company since her NXT debut in September 2015.
