Ric Flair Wishes Charlotte Flair Had Singles Match at WrestleMania 42 Instead of Tag Bout

Ric Flair is excited to watch WWE WrestleMania 42, but he made it clear there’s one thing he wishes was different — his daughter Charlotte Flair being featured in a singles match instead of sharing the spotlight.

While speaking with Yahoo Sports Daily, Ric Flair talked about the upcoming WrestleMania event and praised WWE’s current direction under Paul “Triple H” Levesque. He admitted that running WWE creative isn’t easy, especially when dealing with a roster full of talent that all want top spots. Even with that understanding, Flair revealed that he still hopes Charlotte gets back into a singles role at WrestleMania sooner rather than later. Flair explained that he respects the difficulty of managing talent and egos, while also sharing his personal feelings about Charlotte’s role on the show.

“I mean, I don’t think anybody truly understands how difficult it is to manage egos and talent and you can’t make everybody happy. Does that make sense? You just can’t. I mean, and everybody thinks they’re the best. Everybody thinks they deserve more. I’m staying neutral, but they have some great talent, great storylines and I’m really looking forward to watching it. Um I wish my daughter was in a singles match, but that will happen again. She’s the greatest. I’ll say it right now.”

Charlotte Flair is currently positioned in a tag team setting rather than a singles match at WrestleMania 42, which makes Ric’s comments stand out even more. While he didn’t criticize WWE directly, his remarks showed clear confidence that Charlotte still belongs in a major one-on-one spotlight.

Flair didn’t stop there when discussing Charlotte’s legacy. Later in the conversation, he doubled down on his praise and suggested that Charlotte’s career achievements would look even more dominant if she received the same level of consistent spotlight as some of WWE’s biggest male stars. He specifically compared her potential positioning to Roman Reigns and made it clear he believes Charlotte’s accomplishments already speak for themselves.

“I’ll put it to you like this. If she had a Roman Reigns push, no one could ever talk to her again. She is an icon. I mean, yeah, she’s just raised the bar so high.”

Charlotte Flair has built one of the most decorated careers in WWE history, and even with her appearing in a multi-team match this year, Ric Flair clearly believes it’s only a matter of time before she returns to the singles spotlight on the grandest stage.

Ric Flair made it clear he trusts WWE’s direction and expects Charlotte to shine again, but his comments also show just how strongly he believes his daughter belongs in a one-on-one match at the biggest show of the year.
