Ryan Garner vs Michael Magnesi – Big Fight Preview & Predictions

Ryan Garner faces Michael Magnesi in a crunch WBC Interim super featherweight title clash at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton on Saturday.

Frank Warren’s Queensberry promote Garner vs Magnesi, with the bout broadcast live worldwide on DAZN.

Garner (19-0, 10 KOs) gets a dream homecoming at the home of his beloved Southampton Football Club, knowing victory over the Italian will secure him a shot at WBC world champion, O’Shaquie Foster.

‘The Piranha’ is undefeated in 19 professional fights and cemented his position with a third round stoppage of Cristian Bielma in March.

The 28-year-old previously won the British, Commonwealth and European crowns and made four defences of the WBC International title.

Magnesi (26-2, 13 KOs) heads into the contest off the back of three consecutive wins since a 12th round stoppage loss to Masanori Rikiishi in 2024.

The 31-year-old’s only other defeat came to now-WBA champion, Anthony Cacace in a split decision loss in 2022, where he shipped his IBO title.

Prediction: Garner should be able to squeeze out a tight points win.

Edmondson faces Arthur

In an intriguing, domestic light heavyweight clash, Lewis Edmondson meets former world title challenger, Lyndon Arthur.

Former British and Commonwealth titlist, Edmondson (11-1, 3 KOs) lost for the first time as a professional last July on a contentious majority decision to Daniel Lapin.

Arthur (25-3, 16 KOs) who fell short in a bid to dethrone Dmitry Bivol in 2023, climbed off the canvas to overcome Bradley Rea and win the European title in November.

Prediction: Arthur’s experience could prove crucial here and the pick is for him to win by decision.

Pauls battles Goldsmith

Brad Pauls defends his IBF International middleweight title against Bradley Goldsmith.

Pauls (21-2-1, 12 KOs) won the belt last time out with a ninth round stoppage victory over Shakiel Thompson and is highly-ranked in two of the four governing bodies.

Goldsmith (15-1, 10 KOs) has won three on the bounce since a seventh round stoppage loss to Troy Coleman last April.

Prediction: Pauls can stop Goldsmith.

Remaining Undercard

Exciting super middleweight prospect, Taylor Bevan (8-0, 8 KOs) can maintain his 100% knockout record with a stoppage win over Ryszard Lewicki (12-3-3, 5 KOs).

Iman Zahmatkesh (5-0, 4 KOs) may need the distance to see off Franklin Arinze (10-1, 7 KOs) in their cruiserweight clash.

Georgian super lightweight, Lasha Guruli (3-0, 1 KO) should hand Liam Dillon (16-5-1, 3 KOs) a fourth defeat in five outings on points.

Prospects William Birchall (4-0, 4 KOs), Leighton Birchall (4-0, 3 KOs), Charlie Senior (4-0, 2 KOs) and Adam Olaniyan (1-0, 1 KO) all feature with opponents still to be confirmed.
