AEW just made some major last-minute changes to tonight’s Dynamite — and the biggest news is that Samoa Joe is officially back.
Tony Khan confirmed that Samoa Joe has been medically cleared and is set to return to the ring tonight. The announcement adds a huge boost to an already loaded show as AEW continues building momentum toward Double or Nothing.
Joe’s return immediately adds intrigue to the show, especially considering his history as one of AEW’s most dangerous competitors. With clearance now official, fans will be watching closely to see who steps up to face him — and how he looks in his first match back.
Another last-minute addition was also confirmed for the broadcast, bringing even more action to the lineup. Lio Rush is now scheduled to face Brody King in singles competition. With Samoa Joe now cleared and an additional match added just hours before airtime, tonight’s episode of Dynamite suddenly feels even bigger than originally planned.
Confirmed for AEW Dynamite (April 22, 2026):
- AEW World Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa
- Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis
- Mina Shirakawa vs. Hikaru Shida
- Lio Rush vs. Brody King (newly added)
- Samoa Joe medically cleared and returning to the ring (newly confirmed)

AEW Dynamite airs tonight at 8 PM ET on TBS and streams on MAX, live from the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage throughout the show.
