Shotzi Says Deathmatch Opponent’s Request Made Her Want to Puke

Since departing from WWE in 2025, Shotzi Blackheart has unleashed an even tougher version of herself. “The Ballsy Badass” has taken on several matches with some hardcore stipulations attached. Along with those matches, though, also come some unpleasant risks.

As revealed in an interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, one death match involving GCW Ultraviolent Champion Matt Tremont almost left Blackheart physically ill.

“I did GCW’s Japan tour and it was wild watching Matt Tremont, who was Ultraviolent Champion at GCW at the time, him getting cut open every single night in Japan while his wounds weren’t even healed from the night before,” she said. “It was just so disgusting and gnarly. He’s just a madman.”

Shotzi faced off with Tremont and Jimmy Lloyd at last year’s Tournament of Survival X, which featured a spot that saw her get powerbombed through glass. That was tame compared to another sequence that made her want to vomit.

“I’ve had death matches with Matt Tremont and oh my God. I don’t know if you know what gusset plates are. It is like these metal plates that have just a bunch of prongs sticking out of them. You use it to put carpet down, and they’re just disgusting. I put them in his head, and he goes, ‘Grab that chair and hit me in the gusset plate with it.’ I wanted to throw up in that match as I’m like jamming this gusset in his head. Was not even the one taking it. I was just like ‘You’re mental, you’re messed up, but yes, I will oblige. I will drive this deeper into your skull, I guess.’”

Blackheart Pinpoints The Craziest Spot She’s Ever Done

Long before she became a regular at Game Changer Wrestling, Blackheart appeared as a regular for Evolve, a partner promotion of WWE, throughout 2019. It was there that Blackheart said she both earned a WWE contract and overcame her craziest in-ring spot.

“One spot that I go to immediately is the first time that I wrestled at the ECW Arena when I did the suicide dive through the chairs, which I think was one of the reasons I got my WWE contract. It was like the time that Evolve was airing on the WWE Network. Tommaso Ciampa was actually agenting my match that many years ago. I think that was the last time that I performed at ECW Arena, and now MLW is going to the arena in a couple weeks. There’s something about the arena that brings out the wild side in me. So it’ll be interesting to see what happens.”

The Evolve match pitted Blackheart against Brandi Lauren, under the condition of no disqualifications. The match took place at the former ECW Arena in July 2019, with Lauren ultimately emerging victorious.
