Twiceme Technology has announced the integration of its digital safety platform, anchored by its Medical ID feature, into four Smith helmet models: the Forefront 2 and Payroll mountain bike helmets, and the road/gravel-focused Trace and Triad helmets.
Designed to both help prevent accidents and provide support in emergencies, cyclists wearing Smith helmets with integrated Twiceme Technology have access to a full suite of safety capabilities – including a Medical ID feature that enables users to upload vital health information such as allergies, medical conditions, medications, and emergency contacts – through the free Twiceme smartphone app.
First responders or bystanders can instantly access this information by hovering a smartphone over the Twiceme symbol on the helmet’s rear dial. Additional Twiceme features include:
-
Share Location: lets users choose who can see their real-time location, helping them keep track of their family, teams, or groups.
-
Emergency Services: enables users to manually trigger emergency notifications, utilising GPS capabilities to pinpoint their last known location for a rapid response.
-
Get Back Timer: allows users to set expected return times and automatically alerts designated contacts if the return is delayed.
-
Immobility Alert: detects prolonged immobility, which could indicate someone is incapacitated, and triggers an emergency alert if the user does not respond to a mobile notification.

The company says this announcement represents its outdoor expansion, bringing its “connected safety platform to one of the cycling industry’s most established and widely worn helmet brands.”
Smith is an iconic cycling brand, and bringing Twiceme to their riders is a genuine milestone for our company,” said Christian Connolly, CEO of Twiceme Technology. “Millions of riders trust Smith helmets on the trail and on the road.
With this integration, riders now have a platform to prepare before every ride and ensure that if something goes wrong, first responders can instantly access their critical health information through Twiceme’s Medical ID feature.
The Twiceme-integrated Smith helmets are available now for purchase.
