Starting Off June Hot-June 3, 2026
Yandy Diaz-Rays-1B
Yandy Diaz was 3-5 with 1 R and 2 RBI’s against the Red Sox. Yandy Díaz has been hot in June, hitting .419 with 1 HR, 2 R, and 6 RBI across 35 PA while continuing to make plenty of contact (9% K). The recent surge has been driven in part by a .429 BABIP, but he has also continued to hit the ball hard (48% HardHit). On the season, Díaz is hitting .331 with 12 HR, 34 R, 46 RBI, and 1 SB through 272 PA. He continues to pair excellent bat-to-ball skills (12% K) with above-average quality of contact (9% Barrels and 45% HardHit), making him one of the more reliable batting average contributors in fantasy. The power surge has been an added bonus and gives him legitimate value as a starting corner infielder.
Matt Chapman-Giants-3B
Matt Chapman was 4-5 with 2 HR (6), 3 R, and 3 RBI against the Nationals. Chapman had been one of the hottest hitters in baseball in June, hitting .407 with 3 HR, 4 R, and 15 RBI across 37 PA. He has backed up the production with an outstanding approach (16% BB and 11% K) while increasing his quality of contact (48% HardHit). On the season, Chapman is hitting .262 with 6 HR, 33 R, 37 RBI, and 0 SB through 287 PA. The power has been underwhelming overall, but his disciplined approach (10% BB and 21% K) and recent surge suggest better days could be ahead if he continues to elevate the baseball.
Daylen Lile-Nationals-OF
Daylen Lile was 4-5 with 1 R, 2 RBI, and 2 SB against the Giants. Lile came into the game swinging a hot bat in June, hitting .310 with 1 HR, 4 R, 5 RBI, and 1 SB across 34 PA. He has shown an impressive blend of contact skills (12% K) and improving power (12% Barrels and 44% HardHit) during the month. On the season, Lile is hitting .266 with 8 HR, 40 R, 35 RBI, and 7 SB through 300 PA. The underlying profile remains intriguing with a manageable strikeout rate (17% K) and plenty of fly balls (45% FB). Lile continues to develop into a useful fantasy outfielder capable of contributing across all five categories.
Matt McLain-Reds-2B
Matt McLain was 1-5 with 2 K’s against the Giants. McLain has started to turn things around over the past two weeks, hitting .292 with 3 HR, 7 R, 5 RBI, and 3 SB across 30 PA. The underlying metrics have been outstanding during that stretch, highlighted by elite contact quality (25% Barrels and 56% HardHit) and an excellent 20% walk rate. On the season, McLain is hitting .209 with 8 HR, 28 R, 25 RBI, and 10 SB through 253 PA, as his overall production has been held back by a .252 BABIP. The recent surge is an encouraging sign that the talent is beginning to show through, and if he continues to hit the ball this hard, he could be in line for a strong second half, especially as the weather warms and he gets to call Great American Ballpark home.
Fernando Tatis Jr.-Padres-OF
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 2-for-5 with 1 HR, 1 R, and 2 RBI on Tuesday. Despite the big game, he came into the game hitting well in June outside of power. He was hitting .353 with 0 HR, 3 R, 1 RBI, and 1 SB across 36 PA. He continues to control the strike zone well (17% K). On the season, Tatis is hitting .281 with 2 HR, 25 R, 21 RBI, and 15 SB through 286 PA. The stolen bases have continued to provide plenty of fantasy value, but his power has been well below expectations with just a .067 ISO. If Tuesday’s home run is a sign of things to come, Tatis could be poised for a much stronger second half. A slight change to his launch angle would drastically improve his power numbers. He is making contact (21% K) and hitting the ball hard (10% Barrels and 50% Hardhit), but has a career-low 26% FB.
