Leafs lineup news: Stolarz to start vs. Bruins, Pezzetta re-enters lineup in place of Jarnkrok
“I’m fine,” Stolarz said Monday. “It was just a shot that came up high and just kind of stung. And I just kind of lost my wind there for a second, and there was a little swelling and whatnot.”
Stolarz has recorded a 8-9-3 record in 22 appearances this season, with a .894 save percentage. Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby are both available to operate as Stolarz’s backup.
Morgan Rielly and Oliver Ekman-Larsson will also return to the lineup Tuesday. Rielly missed Sunday’s game due to a lower-body injury which he aggravated during Saturday’s contest. Ekman-Larsson left Monday’s practice due to an unspecified reason, but will play Tuesday.
Michael Pezzetta will enter the lineup in place of Calle Jarnkrok. Pezzetta played two games for the Maple Leafs and did not record a point. During his season debut, Pezzetta entered a fight one second into the game against the Anaheim Ducks. Pezzetta provides the Maple Leafs’ bottom-six with a tenacious, physical presence and the veteran forward is looking to carve out a larger role next fall.
Jarnkrok and Philippe Myers are expected to be the healthy scratches for Tuesday’s game.
Toronto’s first-round pick will be heading to Boston, unless it falls within the top-five, as part of the conditions from the Fraser Minten-Brandon Carlo trade. There’s an additional layer of complexity to the Maple Leafs-Bruins rivalry as a result this year, with both teams heading in different directions.
