Tom Aspinall makes Matchroom move

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall was recently unveiled as the first signing of the newly created Matchroom Talent Agency.

Aspinall became the interim UFC heavyweight champion following a first-round knockout of Sergei Pavlovich in 2023. He was promoted to full champion status following the retirement of Jon Jones in 2025.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Aspinall now he’s joined Matchroom Talent Agency.

Tony Bellew praises Tom Aspinall

Speaking on Fight Your Corner with Tom Aspinall, Bellew revealed who he believes is the baddest man on the planet.

“The baddest man on the planet is whoever’s the king of mixed martial arts. I know they say the heavyweight champion is the baddest man on the planet. I’m sorry, mate, he’s not. He’s a mile off.

“If I get in a cage, it’s sad to say, I don’t even have a puncher’s chance, because he can actually start a fight, and start on his back. And I can’t beat him. I’m a former champion of the world. Tom could fight the best Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter in the world, and he’ll win because he marries his skillset.

“Tom will have good kickboxing, he’ll have good boxing, he’ll have all these different things. Like the baddest man in the world for me, for the number of years has been. It can be Jon Jones, but before Jon Jones, (Fedor) Emelianenko. Right now, it’s Tom (Aspinall).”
