Quinn Simmons (Lidl Trek) burst from the breakaway on stage four as the peloton ran out of road of the Tour Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. Simmons was part of a 10-man group which just made it to the finish in Montrond-les-Bains, metres ahead of the peloton. After a gutsy effort by Pablo Castrillo, Simmons opened up the sprint, holding off Finn Fisher-Black and Matteo Vercher.
“It’s been a year since I put my hands in the air, so it’s pretty special. To have a confirmation that the form is there is nice. I’ve never won a sprint before.”
-Quinn Simmons. His last victory, winning a stage at Tour de Suisse 12 months ago.
