The Dragons of Wales and the Black Stars of Ghana shared the spoils in a historic international friendly at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 at 18: 45 pm.
Both teams presented their best bet in starting lineup but the first half produced no goals.
Ati-Zigi produced steller saves in that interval to keep the game at bay.
The second was much better on the part of the Black Stars.
There was so much intensity, energy and creativity to the way the team played.
Kwasi Sibo for Thomas Partey, Ernest Nuamah for Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Brandon Thomas-Asante for Prince Adu, Benjamin Asare (GK) for Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Caleb Yirenkyi for Elisha Owusu, Christopher Bonsu Baah for Kamaldeen Sulemana, Iñaki Williams for Jordan Ayew (captain), Alidu Seidu for Marvin Senaya, Abdul Mumin for Jerome Opoku (injury), Abdul Rahman Baba for Gideon Mensah.
Ernest Nuamah’s long bursting run into the box and shot was repelled only for Caleb Yirenkyi to tuck in from close range, the opener.
It looked like Ghana will end the game on a winning note but Baba Rahman making a return to the team in over two years failed to track his marker Neco Williams who flouted a well curated cross for Lewis Koumas to head past Benjaimen Asare for 1-1
Ghana is still winless after six friendly games. They will play Jamaica.
