Fans aren’t letting Kairi Sane’s WWE release slide — and they made sure their voices were heard loud and clear on RAW.
During the April 27 episode of WWE RAW in Laredo, Texas, Becky Lynch opened the show bragging about her recent wins, including ending AJ Lee’s title reign at WrestleMania. She also took shots at the local crowd and issued an open challenge.
That challenge was answered when IYO Sky came out, leading to a match between the two. Becky Lynch ended up winning, but the biggest moment didn’t come from the finish.
Once Asuka got involved, fans inside the arena started chanting “We Want Kairi,” and the chants were loud enough to be clearly heard during the match. It was a strong reminder that fans haven’t forgotten about Kairi Sane after her release.
Her departure already caused a huge reaction online, with fans pushing #WeWantKairi to the No. 2 trending spot on Twitter. Asuka also showed public support for her longtime partner after the news broke.
“No matter what, I’ll always be in your corner, Kairi. I’ll never leave you feeling alone.”
Backstage, the reaction to her release was reportedly just as strong. Many within WWE were shocked because Sane was still part of a storyline with Asuka and IYO Sky. That shock turned into frustration when it became clear the storyline wouldn’t get a proper ending.
With fans now chanting her name on live TV, it’s clear the reaction to Kairi Sane’s release isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
