Deity: NIGHTCRAWLERS with the Vale Crew
Here is some simple, fun, and low-fi-inspired edit by some of the most stylish riders out there. I first caught a glimps ff Nils Heiniger’s riding when I was at the Rossignol Heretic press camp last year. His fluent style does not disappoint, and neither does Matt Begg, Billy Meaclem, and Hunter Paull’s.
You can always count on a couple of Kiwi’s to entertain and bring out the good vibes. I want to go riding now….

RockShox x Bjorn Riley | Dual Lines
I know, it’s not current at all, but I watched this video again recently when I showed it to my partner to explain why I’m rooting for Bjorn on the XC World Cup circuit this year. He got 3rd last weekend in Lenzerheide, and is sitting at 5th overall for the season. I love Bjorn’s aesthetic and attitude, and watching him ride is a damn delight. It reminds me of one of the seminal athletes of my youth, Seth Morrison, with the wild eyewear and jewelry, and the so confident, so big riding style.
Bjorn’s “Sketchbook” vlogs are also worth a watch, especially the Rampage one.

VUVUZELA A Short Film About a Mountain Biking Trip in British Columbia| SubPar
There’s a proud tradition of chaos & hijinx vids in the mountain bike canon, and I think it’s important to recognize these vids are just coming of age tales for 2-wheeled dirtbags. I’m simultaneously jealous of these young bucks and happy those days are behind me, but man, this brings back great memories.
This one’s all summed up by the sub-head:
Eleven Riders I Twenty One Riders I Five Vuvuzels [sic] I Four Trucks I Three Braincells I One Dream
Revel in the madness.

Unpopular Opinions From the World’s BEST Downhill Racers | Just Ride by Red Bull
This was way better than I was expecting. Lots of sports do these videos to try to connect the fans to the athletes, and usually they’re lame. In this case, the riders all showed great little glimpses into their personalities, and answered some questions you would not expect (albeit with a little censorship added to protect the innocent).
