God of War Laufey
The show’s grand finale featured a surprise that had previously only been the subject of vague rumors. With the standalone spin-off Laufey, the God of War series radically shifts its perspective.
You take on the role of Faye,the late wife of Kratos. The story begins shortly after her death, when she awakens in a completely unknown region of the Nine Realms. Without her familiar Leviathan Axe, she must rely on a traditional sword and her own magical powers to survive.
On her journey throughthe divine afterlifeshe apparently even encounters Egyptian gods, which opens new doors for the entire universe. A strange, gelatinous cube and talking ribbons on her weapon accompany her on this journey. No specific release date has been announced yet.
Until Dawn 2
The studio Firesprite is working on a true sequel to the interactive horror classic Until Dawn. The story revolves around a completely new group of ghost hunters. They usually stage their videos online for cheap clicks, but during their latest investigation, they stumble upon a real chamber of horrors. Until Dawn 2 is set to be released in 2027 for the PlayStation 5.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Insomniac’s next major Marvel project was showcased in a first extended gameplay presentation. InWolverine, the main character Logan sneaks through a Trask Industries research facility to free captive mutants. The game doesn’t shy away from explicit violence and ruthless maneuvers.
Superheroine Jean Grey supports him with her psychic abilities, allowing for powerful combo attacks in combat. A high-speed motorcycle chase rounds out the action shown. Additionally, the footage suggests that Logan can use his healing factor to get back up immediately after a virtual death. There was also news regarding the release: Marvel’s Wolverine is coming to PlayStation 5 on September 15.
Control: Resonant
Remedy Studios is giving the acclaimed 2019 action-adventure game Control a sequel. In the fast-paced spin-off Resonant, Dylan Faden—the brother of the previous protagonist, Jesse—takes on the lead role. The game takes a significantly darker turn, as fans of the predecessor might already suspect. The global release date is set for September 24—on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Lara Croft returns to the screen in a complete remake of her very first adventure. The 1996 game has been redeveloped from the ground up and modernized both graphically and in terms of gameplay. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches on February 12, 2027, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Sometime after that, Tomb Raider: Cataclyst, a completely new installment in the series, is set to be released.
Silent Hill: Townfall
Silent Hill returns with a dense, eerie atmosphere. The newly revealed footage from the upcoming installment, Townfall, features classic stealth sequences where you must navigate past grotesque monsters to escape the threat. The game is set to release on September 24 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Dune: Awakening
The survival game set in the well-known science fiction universe is coming to PlayStation 5 following its PC release. The console version ofDune: Awakeningwill feature a major highlight right from launch. The developers are including a brand-new single-player mode in the package, also on PC. The release date for the console version (including Xbox Series X/S) is September 22, 2026.
Marathon

Bungie took the stage at State of Play to showcase new content for Season 2 of the extraction shooter Marathon. A new zone, a new character skin, and additional game modes were showcased. The expansions are directly tied to the currently ongoing season.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom is reviving a classic franchise: The long-awaited sequel to the samurai action series Onimusha combines traditional sword fighting with modern technology and fluid gameplay mechanics. It will be released on September 25 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.A playable demois now available for download.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

Bandai Namco delivers fresh content for virtual pilots withAce Combat 8: Wings of Theve. An action-packed trailer showcases spectacular aerial combat and offers the first glimpses of the complex storyline. The game takes off on October 2, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-order customers will also receive a port of the classic Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War as a bonus.
Rayman Legends Retold
The modern classic among side-scrolling platformers is getting a comprehensive makeover:Rayman Legends is being reimagined from the ground up with Retold to combine the timeless charm of the original with modern technology. The elastic hero will be bouncing back on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 starting October 1.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered
The classic mass-battle epic Dynasty Warriors 3 returns to PlayStation 5 as a remaster. As a special bonus, Ziluan, the main character of the upcoming spin-off Dynasty Warriors Origins, is playable. The remaster is scheduled for release on October 1, 2026, also for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
No Rest for the Wicked
The dark action RPG from developer Moon Studios is leaving Early Access after two years. Version 1.0 ofNo Rest for the Wickedbrings the full gaming experience to screens. The challenging combat system is set to receive its final polish in October and will then also be released for PS5.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
The fighting game Marvel Tōkon from Arc System Works showcases the Knights of Doom team in a new trailer. This alliance consists of well-known villains such as Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage. The game will be released on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Stuntman: Hollywood
Saber Interactive is bringing back the PS2 hidden gem centered on dangerous driving maneuvers with Stuntman: Hollywood. You’ll perform daring stunts for famous, licensed Hollywood productions like Knight Rider, Miami Vice, and Back to the Future. An exact release date for Stuntman: Hollywood has not yet been announced.
Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen
This cooperative open-world action game features a distinctive anime style. Up to three players can team up in Kemuri to hunt down demonic enemies in fast-paced battles. The project is being developed under the direction of Ikumi Nakamura and is scheduled for release in 2027, including for PC.
The Lost Wild
The survival game The Lost Wild, presented by Annapurna, throws you into a dense jungle world. The game combines a deep narrative with tough survival elements as you flee from or fight against giant dinosaurs. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
Bancho the Chef
The development studio Mintrocket is capitalizing on the success ofDave the Diverwith a prequel titled Banco the Chef. The game revolves entirely around the eponymous chef and consists largely of various culinary mini-games. A release date has not yet been announced.
ILL
In ILL, Team Clout plunges you into a particularly eerie first-person horror scenario. You’ll face off against mutated zombies and grotesque creatures crawling right in front of you. This intense fight for survival is set to begin in 2027 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Phantom Blade Zero
The stylish action game Phantom Blade Zero was shown in a brief preview at the show. This serves as a first glimpse of a larger gameplay reveal, which has been announced for later this summer. Contrary to what is stated in the trailer, the release date is October 29, 2026. Platforms: PC and PlayStation 5.
PlayStation Plus
Sony also provided a preview of upcoming content for its in-house subscription service, PS Plus. The game Runescape: Dragonwilds will expand the lineup this fall. Additionally, the Classics catalog will be expanded in June with Gitaroo Man, in July with Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, and in August with Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.
