Whyte ‘triples-down’ on all-new full-suspension bikes

Whyte Bikes has announced the launch of three entirely new trail and enduro platforms in both the pedal and e-mountain categories.

The Sythe and Syphon are long and mid-travel pedal mountain bikes respectively.  They mark an evolutionary step forward from the multi award-winning and much loved T-Series (T160, T-140, T-130 and more). With so many updates and refinements, these bikes reflect a whole new personality and performance level for trail and enduro riders alike. And with bikes already in-store, and prices starting from only £2199 / €2599 – this is the summer everyone can get after it.

Karve is the brand’s all-new hard-charging mid-travel 160mm eMTB platform, built for tackling every single track, trail, and challenge on the mountain. Karve EVO – launched earlier this year – is the longer 180mm travel, descent-ripping, stablemate. Both models land in stores this summer, so we’re giving riders a headsup so they can reserve theirs now. With prices starting at £5650 / €6499 demand is already high for those wanting the very latest in eMTB tech.

  • Designed, developed, and proven in the varied terrain and abysmal weather of the UK. From World Cup worthy DH tracks to the best crosscountry you could imagine, our small team of designers and engineers are spoilt for choice on testing locations and conditions. Our Head of MTB Design, Sam Shucksmith, also just so happens to be the current British EEnduro National Champion – so you can have faith these bikes have been pushed to their limits.
  • The latest Quad-LinkTM suspension kinematics. Our progressive four-bar suspension engineering has been meticulously tuned over generations. No unneccesary gimmicks or superfluous fluff, just a damn good system that works efficiently and rides exceptionally no matter what your jam.
  • Total GeometryTM design that means every bike fits every rider ‘just so’. Like having your very own custom-built frame where every frame size is tailored to the rider’s size. In plain English, this means the front triangles and/or swingarms differ across frame sizes – meaning every bike rides 100% how it was intended.
  • Adjustible geometry thanks to the ‘flip-chip’ in our Shape. It Link. Enables a lower / slacker geometry position from standard to tune the ride for your fav trails, or simply the mood you’re in
  • Easily convertible from full 29er to MX (or vice-versa in the case of Sythe), using aftermarket Shape. It Link to convert wheelsize while maintaining both the suspension kinematics and high/low geometry adjustment.
  • Specced with full-insertion dropper posts as standard: Frame size sizespecific drops – shorter drops on smaller frames, bigger drops on larger ones.
  • Backed with lifetime frame and pivot-bearing warranties. Because we have absolute confidence in what we make, and so can riders. Just remember to register your bike for free within 28 days or purchase to activate.

  • Full 29er wheels for terrain swallowing-speed, that can also be made MX using a different Shape. It link (sizes M, L + XL; MX wheels come stock on size S).

KARVE

Karve tears onto the scene like a trail thriller. A 160mm carbon eMTB powerhouse that’s built for enduro, but not as we know it. Welcome to Hard Country – where the very toughest ups, downs, and bits in between are the reason we go riding.

Such a significant leap in eMTB performance was only possible thanks to our capacity for rapid design iteration and pragmatic engineering solutions. With relentless tinkering, testing, and trying again we harnessed all our contemporary geo know-how and proven Quad-Link 4 suspension kinematics… then added a touch of power.

1300W of peak power to be precise. The kinda of peak power and max torque that’s just set the world of eMTB on its head.

And yet more power doesn’t mean a better ride. More confidence does.  Karve’s poise is what sets it apart, especially in wet and slippy conditions. This bike delivers buckets of confidence when the heavens open, not just thanks to its predictable handling but also thanks to its ability to repel the elements and get you home.  Miserable British weather-sealing comes as standard.  As does factory-fitted RideWrap frame protection on the RSX models.

Available in two models – Karve RS and Karve RSX – here are some of the highlights:

  • 160mm front + 160mm rear of proven Quad-Link 4 suspension, with carefully custom-tuned rear shocks.
  • Choice of two frames: full-carbon fibre (Karve RSX), or carbon fibre front triangle with aluminium rear triangle (Karve RS) – both with lifetime* frame and pivot-bearing warranties.
  • Powered by Avinox’s very latest M2S full-torque (up to 150Nm), full-power (1300W peak) motor system + DPC100 OLED top-tube touchscreen display.
  • 800Wh battery – concealed in the downtube and barely noticeable.
  • Full 29er set-up – ready to be converted to MX (mixed)/‘mullet’ by swapping out a different Shape. It Link.
  • Available in S, M, L + XL sizes.
  • Full-carbon fibre framed Karve RSX model protected with RideWrap (85% coverage) straight from the factory.

SRPs

  • Karve RS: SRP £5650 / €6499
  • Karve RSX: SRP £7799 / €8699
