Rhea Ripley may already have a major SummerSlam challenger lined up, as WWE is discussing having her square off against Jacy Jayne.
Ringside News can confirm that a WWE Women’s Championship match between Rhea Ripley and Jacy Jayne has been pitched internally for SummerSlam in Minneapolis. The match has not been officially announced by WWE, but the idea is now on the table as WWE begins shaping plans for one of its biggest shows of the year.
The pitch comes after Ripley successfully defended the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy on May 31. That match saw Ripley survive interference from B-Fab and Michin before Charlotte Flair got involved and helped even the odds. Ripley eventually hit another Riptide to retain the title, leaving Italy still on top of the women’s division.
Jayne also has history with Ripley. The two have had multiple interactions this year and even faced each other earlier in 2026, which gives WWE a built-in path if they decide to move forward with the SummerSlam match.
A Ripley vs. Jayne title match would be a fresh direction after Ripley’s recent battles with Cargill. It would also give Jayne a major singles spotlight on a huge stage, while allowing Ripley to continue her championship reign against a different kind of challenger.
For now, the match remains a pitch, not a confirmed SummerSlam bout. Still, if WWE pulls the trigger, Rhea Ripley vs. Jacy Jayne could become one of the most interesting women’s title matches on the Minneapolis card.
