WWE RAW Results (5/4/26): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens up with Michael Cole and Corey Graves welcoming us as we see the arrivals of Oba Femi, El Grande Americano, The Creed Brothers, Sol Ruca, Penta and Je’Von Evans.
We then see Roman Reigns roll into the arena in a black SUV. Adam Pearce then walks up to him to discuss the contract and it looks like Reigns is heading to the ring. Adam Pearce then informs Roman Reigns that Jacob Fatu is not here yet. Seth Rollins is then seen standing behind Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins says Reigns is in his way and he makes his way down to the ring.
Bron Breakker then ambushes Seth Rollins on the ramp. Breakker pounds away at Rollins. Breakker then hoists Rollins up and tosses him over the barricade. Security is then out to separate them. Breakker then wipes out the security. Adam Pearce is out as well. Breakker then gets back in the ring and he hits Seth Rollins with a devastating spear.
Michael Cole then brings up The Judgment Day and we see what Finn Bálor told Roxanne Perez in private.
We then head to the Judgment Day clubhouse. Liv Morgan says Stephanie Vaquer is injured and she doesn’t have to worry about her anymore. Liv Morgan then asks Roxanne Perez about Finn Bálor sneaking into their locker room last week. Liv Morgan then says she is worried about Roxanne Perez. Roxanne then says she didn’t mention it because she told Bálor to get out of the clubhouse and never come back. Roxanne then says she should have said something. Roxanne then says she is loyal to the Judgment Day. Morgan then says she believes in Perez. Morgan then says she wants Perez and Raquel to become the next WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Morgan then says she doesn’t want Perez to keep any secrets from the family.
Finn Bálor then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and JD McDonagh follows with The Judgment Day.
Singles Match: Finn Bálor vs. The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh
The match starts off with both men locking up. Bálor then applies a side headlock to McDonagh. Bálor then hits an arm drag. Dominik Mysterio then hits a cheap shot to Bálor, allowing McDonagh to take control. Bálor then fights back with a series of chops. Bálor then hits a Side Russian Leg Sweep for a near fall. McDonagh then hits a leg drop on the back of Bálor’s neck for a two count. McDonagh then targets Bálor’s left knee. Bálor then hits a basement dropkick. Bálor then sends McDonagh over the top rope. Mysterio then again gets involved. McDonagh then sends Bálor to the floor and here comes Roxanne Perez.
Bálor then barely beats the count. McDonagh then pounces on Bálor for a near fall. McDonagh then applies a side headlock. Bálor then hits a thunderous chop to McDonagh. McDonagh then hits an Irish whip. McDonagh then a back body drop for a near fall. Mysterio then hits another cheap shot behind the referee’s back. McDonagh then applies a side headlock. Bálor is now trying to fight back and Morgan and Rodriguez are out as well. Bálor then hits a series of rights and he follows it up with a big back body drop. Bálor then hits a Slingblade. Dominik then gets on the apron, but Bálor drops him off the apron.
McDonagh then hits Spanish Fly for a near fall. Bálor then hits a shoulder to the gut. Bálor then hits a kick. Bálor then heads to the top rope, but Dominik trips him up again. Jessika Carr then catches Dominik red-handed and tells the Judgment Day to leave. McDonagh then launches himself off the top rope, but Bálor gets his knees up. Bálor then hits another Slingblade. Morgan is now on the apron and Bálor hits a basement dropkick to McDonagh. Perez then hits Bálor with a hammer, allowing McDonagh to get the win.

We then see Jackie Redmond in the backstage area and she is with Seth Rollins. Redmond asks Rollins if he is going to be okay ahead of Backlash. Rollins says he will be fine. Rollins then says he told the kid last week that if he took his chances, he better be able to finish the job. Rollins then says he ain’t dead yet. Rollins then walks away.
We then see Byron Saxton Los Americanos. Saxton asks about El Grande Americano’s mask match.and tonight’s match. Rayo then talks about the new Americanos. Bravo then says he does not have nice things to say about them. Grande then says they didn’t understand what you signed up for. He then says he can’t do anything in Mexico, but he is able to do anything in the U.S.
We are then told that there will be a 2 hour Countdown show for WWE Backlash and the first hour will air on ESPN2.
We then take a look at Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu with a video package and Michael Cole talks about the Tongan Death Grip.
We then see Bron Breakker in the locker room with Austin Theory and Logan Paul and they joke about Seth Rollins. Paul Heyman then shows up and asks if Rollins is still breathing. Logan then says Joe Hendry will not be breathing when he gets done with him. He then says he will hospitalize him. Heyman then says that is why Logan is not fighting Joe and Bron almost got himself suspended. Heyman then says Brock retired on him. Heyman then says you will be arrested if you do what you want to Joe. Heyman then says Joe is facing Austin Theory tonight.
Penta and Je’Von Evans then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Rusev and Ethan Page follow.
Tag Team Match: WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta and “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans vs. “The Lion of Bulgaria” Rusev and “All Ego” Ethan Page
The match starts off with Rusev and Je’Von Evans and Rusev sends Evans into the corner and hits several shoulders into the midsection of Evans. Rusev then runs into a boot. Evans then tries to fight back, but Rusev puts him down. Ethan Page then comes in. Evans then hits a series of chops to Page. Evans then hits a forearm to Rusev. Evans then hits a snap suplex to Page. Evans then hits a dropkick to Page. Penta is now the legal man and the babyfaces hit a superkick to Rusev. Evans then hits a hurricanrana to Rusev. Page then goes for a Twisted Grin, but Penta counters with a Penta Driver for a near fall.
Page is back in control and Rusev continues the beatdown on Penta. He now applies a side headlock to Penta. Penta then tries to fight back with a series of chops and forearms, but Rusev hits an Irish whip. Page then enters the fray and he pounds away at Penta. Rusev then hits an upper cut to Penta. Rusev then hits several splashes on Penta in the corner. Penta then knocks Rusev off the apron. Rusev then pulls Evans off the apron, preventing Penta from making the tag. Page then blasts Penta from behind. He then pounds away at Penta. Rusev then tries to take out Evans, but he accidentally runs into the steel cage.
Evans then comes in and he hits a clothesline to Page and follows it up with a stunner. Evans then hits a German Suplex to Page. Evans then flies through the air, wiping out Rusev. Back in the ring, Evans takes out Page with a flying clothesline for a near fall. Evans then heads to the top rope and launches himself, but Page moves out of the way. He then hits a kick. Penta then hits Page with a Tornado DDT. Rusev then breaks the fall. Evans then turns his attention to Rusev, sending him over the top rope. He then hits a suicide dive, dropping Rusev to the announce desk. Evans then heads to the top rope, but Page knocks him off the top rope.
The fight then spills to the outside. Rusev then plants Penta on the announce table behind the referee’s back. Back in the ring, Page then hits Penta with a fisherman’s suplex for the win.

We then see Sol Ruca walking in the backstage area. Meanwhile. Austin Theory can be seen talking to a mystery female star.
We then see Byron Saxton with JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio. McDonagh then stops Byron and he says he is tired of the mentor narrative with him and Finn Bálor. McDonagh then says the best thing Bálor ever did was introduce him to Dominik and the rest of Judgment Day. McDonagh then says they don’t need Finn Bálor. McDonagh then says they kicked out the dead wood and will rule WWE. Byron then asks about Roxanne and if the group is united. Dominik says McDonagh beat Bálor tonight. Dominik then says he is still the AAA Mega Champion. Dominik then says Liv is the Women’s World Champion. Dominik then says Roxanne Perez helped McDonagh tonight. Dominik then says Roxanne and Raquel will become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions.
We then see RAW General Manager Adam Pearce standing in the ring. WWE then airs a video package featuring Sol Ruca. Pearce then introduces Sol Ruca to the WWE Universe. Pearce then congratulates Ruca and he hands over the contract. The WWE Universe then erupts with “You deserve it” chants. Ruca says it feels so good to be on the flagship show. Becky Lynch then interrupts Ruca’s contract signing. Lynch says she’s been looking for Adam Pearce all day. Lynch then says she was told this would be her allotted time to celebrate her greatness.
Lynch then takes issue with the RAW General Manager booking her in an impromptu match against IYO SKY last week. Ruca then asks Lynch if she is done. Ruca then says not everything is about Becky Lynch. Ruca then calls Lynch a rude, big-headed b****. Lynch then asks Pearce if he is going to let Sol Ruca talk to her like this. Ruca then signs her RAW contract. Ruca then says if Lynch ever interrupts her again, she will snatch her soul. Lynch then accidentally lays hands on Adam Pearce. Ruca then hits a Sol Snatcher on Lynch.
We then take a look at what happened on SmackDown with Jacob Fatu. Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso then walk in the back and Jackie Redmond stops them to ask about the contract signing. Jimmy says it is a big night and they won’t miss it for nothing. Jimmy then says they love Jacob, but he has to know how Roman does business with the title on the line. Jackie then asks if there is any conflict. Jey says this is family business. Jey then says Roman knows how to handle himself. Jey then says they are here to make sure nothing pops off with Jacob and Roman. He then tells Jacob he is in the deep end and he tells Jacob to realize who he is dealing with. The Usos then enter Roman Reigns’ locker room.
Joe Hendry then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Hendry wants to hold a concert before the match and Hendry says he did a song about Logan Paul last week. Hendry then says he felt bad for Logan Paul. Hendry then says he wants to do an apology concert for Logan Paul. Hendry then says he wants the WWE Universe to sing along. Hendry then talks about saving the world. Hendry then says, “Can we fire Logan Paul?” Hendry then calls Logan Paul a piece of trash. Hendry then says Logan Paul can shove his trading cards directly up his a**.
Logan Paul then makes his way down to the ring with Austin Theory to say he is unfireable. Logan then calls himself a business and the heart and soul of WWE. Austin Theory then enters the ring, but Joe Hendry sends him over the top rope.
Singles Match: Joe Hendry vs. The Vision’s WWE World Tag Team Champion Austin Theory
The match starts off with Logan Paul getting on the apron, allowing Austin Theory to gain early control. Theory then hits Hendry with a backbreaker. Hendry then tries to fight back with a series of chops. Theory then sends Hendry into the corner with authority. Theory then pounds away at Hendry. Theory then hits a snap suplex to Hendry. Theory then goes for another one, but Hendry gives Theory a taste of his own medicine. Hendry then hits a clothesline to Theory.
Hendry then catches Theory mid-air and hits him with a fallaway slam. Logan then attacks Hendry from behind, forcing the referee to call for the bell.

After the match, Joe Hendry tries to fight back, but the number’s game catches up to him. The Vision then launches a two-on-one attack on Joe Hendry until the Street Profits come to his aid. Bron Breakker then joins the fray and wipes out the Street Profits. He then hits a German Suplex. Seth Rollins then drags Bron Breakker out of the ring and sends him into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Seth Rollins pounds away at Breakker. He then knocks Logan Paul and Austin Theory off the apron. Montez Ford then takes out everybody. Breakker then hits Rollins with another Spear.
We are then told that Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins will be on the first hour of Backlash.
We then see Jackie Redmond in the backstage area and she is with the Judgment Day. Liv Morgan says the focus of the Judgement Day is getting all the gold. Raquel Rodriguez then puts Paige and Brie Bella on notice. She then says she wants them to come to their show. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria then walk up to them. The two teams then get into an argument. Liv Morgan then calls them losers before walking off.
We then take a look at what happened on SmackDown with Sami Zayn and Trick Williams and it is announced that this match will also take place on the first hour of WWE Backlash.
Oba Femi then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Oba Femi then grabs a mic and says the time has come. Femi then says the Oba Femi open challenge will now begin. Alpha Academy then make their way out as Otis answers Oba Femi’s open challenge.
Singles Match: “The Ruler” Oba Femi vs. Alpha Academy’s Otis
The match starts off with both men locking up and both men hit several shoulder tackles. Femi then hits an uppercut to Otis. Femi then tosses Otis across the ring. Femi then plants Otis on the second rope. Femi then hits Otis with a Fall From Grace for the win.

We then see Seth Rollins in the backstage area and he runs into The Street Profits. Rollins then gets into an argument with The Street Profits and Joe Hendry shows up. Seth Rollins then says they are on the same fight. Rollins then tells The Street Profits to stay out of his way.
We then see Roman Reigns and Adam Pearce going over the contract and Jacob Fatu has arrived to the arena.
Ethan Page then makes his way out to the interview area. Page complains about the crowd reaction. Page then says he put his celebration suit on to get his standing ovation. Page then says he deserves one because he pinned the current champion. Page then says he is undefeated on RAW. Page then says he pinned Penta’s pal Je’Von Evans. Page then says he has forced himself into the title picture. Page then says soon he will be holding said championship. Page then says it is the token of excellence in WWE. Page then says it is the launching pad for everyone in this company who went straight to the top.
We then take a look at a face-to-face meeting between IYO SKY and Asuka. IYO tells Asuka she has avoided this fight for years because she is what she says she is. IYO then says she is her senpai and mentor. IYO then says she looked up to Asuka. IYO then says she loved Asuka. IYO then says despite everything she has done to her, she has the ultimate respect for Asuka. IYO then says she never wanted to have this fight and never wanted it to come to this. IYO then says Asuka has changed.
Asuka. then says nothing has changed. IYO then says she has to fight Asuka. Asuka then says IYO continues her disrespect. Asuka then says the IYO she taught is not in front of her. Asuka then says who are you. Asuka then says this IYO is her biggest disappointment. Asuka then says she is done with IYO at Backlash and she will cut her out of her life for good. IYO then says she is ready for Asuka. Asuka then spits blue mist in IYO’s face.
Michael Cole then asks Corey Graves what is going on in AAA. We then see Jackie Redmond with The Original El Grande Americano and his guys. Redmond asks about what happened during the contract signing and tonight’s match. The Original El Grande Americano says the no contact rule only applies in Mexico so all bets are off. The Original El Grande Americano then says his friends decided to help him out because they learned from his friend Chad Gable. The Original El Grande Americano then says we will find out there is only one El Grande Americano and we’re looking at him.
The Original El Grande Americano, Julio and Bruno then make their way down to the ring for the main event of the night and Los Americanos follow.
6-Man Tag Team Match: The Original El Grande Americano, Julio Americano and Bruto Americano vs. Los Americanos (El Grande Americano, Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano)
The match starts off with all six men brawling and It’s chaos mid-ring. Bruto and Bravo then lock up. Julio is now the legal man and he hits a back body drop. Rayo then takes the fight to Julio. Julio then hits a suplex to Rayo into the ropes. He then hits another German Suplex. The Original El Grande Americano then hits a hip toss. El Grande Americano then engages in a collar-and-elbow tie-up with the Original El Grande Americano. El Grande Americano then sends the Original El Grande Americano into the announce desk. The Original El Grande Americano then hits a big chop to Rayo. Julio is now the legal man and he tosses Rayo and Bravo across the ring.
Julio then sends himself into the ring post. El Grande Americano then slides through his opponent and he follows it up with a dropkick for a near fall. Julio then hits a big back body drop to El Grande Americano. Rayo and Bravo then enter the fray and continue the beatdown on Julio. Bravo and Julio are now exchanging chops and both men are down. The Original El Grande Americano and El Grande Americano are now the legal men. The Original El Grande Americano then hits an Angle Slam. The Original El Grande Americano then hits a German Suplex to Bravo and Rayo. He then hits El Grande Americano with a cannonball. Julio then hits a superplex to Rayo. Bruto then hits a moonsault.
Bravo then hits a splash on the Original El Grande Americano for a near fall. The fight then spills to the outside. Back in the ring, The Original El Grande Americano hits a German Suplex to Bravo. He then heads to the top rope and hits a flying headbutt for the win.

Michael Cole then announces that John Cena will be returning at Backlash in Tampa.
Roman Reigns’ music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Adam Pearce is out as well for the contract singing and he introduces Jacob Fatu. Adam Pearce then tells them to make their match official. Reigns then asks Omaha, Nebraska to acknowledge him and they do. Reigns then asks Fatu if he heard the sound of the WWE Universe. Reigns then says he has been here for over 12 years, while Fatu was grinding on the independents. Reigns then says he opened the door for Solo Sikoa, therefore he brought Fatu into WWE. Reigns then says he wants Fatu to show some respect.
Reigns then talks about Fatu using the Tongan Death Grip. Reigns then says Fatu shouldn’t have done that to his Tribal Chief. Fatu then says Reigns got it all wrong. Fatu then says he is desperate as it feels like him against the world. Fatu then says he had no choice but to take the World Heavyweight Championship off of Reigns. Fatu then says he vows to squeeze out every dollar and every cent the way the Bloodline has been doing to this company. Fatu then says he is desperate enough to do anything for his household. Reigns then signs the contract and says he has been taking care of multiple households.
Reigns then says this is his ring and he calls The Bloodline equals. Fatu then says Reigns is beneath him and he Fatu applies Tongan Death Grip, but Reigns fights out of it. Reigns then pounds away at Fatu. Reigns then goes for a Superman Punch, but Fatu counters with the Tongan Death Grip. Adam Pearce then tries to get involved, but Fatu puts Reigns through the table. Fatu then signs the contract to make the Backlash main event official. The WWE Universe then erupts with “Fatu” chants as The Samoan Werewolf stands tall and the show comes to a close.
