WWE’s Chelsea Green Underwent Heart Procedure After 10 Years Of Living With SVT

Chelsea Green has revealed she underwent a heart procedure following a decade-long battle with supraventricular tachycardia.

The WWE star posted the news on her Instagram account alongside a photo of herself in a hospital bed with her husband Matt Cardona at her side, both smiling.

“After 10 years, doctors finally caught my SVT and I was able to get a heart procedure done! 3 hours later and I’m on the mend,” Green wrote.

The 10-year timeline means Green has been dealing with the condition through her entire major wrestling career, spanning her first WWE run, her time as Laurel Van Ness in Impact Wrestling, her stint with the National Wrestling Alliance, Lucha Underground and her current WWE SmackDown tenure.

Supraventricular tachycardia, or SVT, is a heart rhythm condition that causes the heart to suddenly beat abnormally fast, typically over 150 beats per minute. Episodes can come on without warning and last anywhere from a few seconds to several hours. The standard treatment for recurring SVT is a procedure called catheter ablation, which uses thin tubes inserted through blood vessels to target and disable the small areas of heart tissue causing the abnormal rhythm.

Green is a two-time and inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion, having defeated Michin to win the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2024.

Best wishes to Green on a full recovery.
