In one of the most impressive though uncredited Grand Slam feats of 2026 Michael Zheng has qualified for all three Grand Slams this year including Wimbledon today. He has won nine Grand Slam qualies matches in 2026.
The 22 year old ranked 143 defeated Henri Squire, Laszlo Djere and Colton Smith today in four sets to qualify for this third straight major main draw. Earlier this year Zheng qualified at Australian Open by beating Cruz Hewitt, Tomas Barrios Vera and Lukas Klein 10-8 in the third set tiebreaker. At Roland Garros he qualified by beating Antoine Ghibaudo, Stefano Travaglia and Jesper DeJong.
Before this year Zheng failed to qualify at US Open in 2023, 2024 and 2025, faltering in the second round twice and once in first round.
But this year Zheng has proved that he has learned from his experiences in Grand Slams and winning three Challenger titles in 2025 (Tiburon, Chicago, Columbus) and transformed himself into a Grand Slam qualies machine. In January in Melbourne Zheng knocked off Sebastian Korda in five sets in the main draw first round – the best win of his career – before falling to Corentin Moutet in second round. Korda won Delray Beach Open a month after losing to Zheng in Australia.
The trending direction is clear that Michael Zheng is rising young force in the ATP and at his rate of improvement and progression, it would hardly be a surprise to see the Montville, NJ native and Columbia University alum make a Grand Slam explosion in the first or second week.
