AEW has added another match to the Double or Nothing Buy In lineup ahead of Sunday’s event in Arizona.
All Elite Wrestling announced that The Opps’ Anthony Bowens, HOOK, and Katsuyori Shibata will face The Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia in a trios match during the Buy In pre-show on May 24. AEW made the announcement on social media while also tying the match into the ongoing issues between the two groups.
“Bowens tried to interfere for Shibata vs Ospreay, but the Death Riders cut him off! It will be a Death Riders vs Opps trios fight on The Buy In, this Sunday!”
The match announcement also adds to the ongoing rivalry involving Samoa Joe and Will Ospreay. Later in the night at Double or Nothing, Joe — who leads The Opps faction — is scheduled to face Ospreay, who has recently been training alongside the Death Riders.
The Buy In show has quickly filled up with multiple matches and crossover storylines heading into the pay-per-view. Previously announced for the pre-show is Boom & Doom, featuring “Big Boom!” A.J. and Q.T. Marshall teaming with The Conglomeration’s Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, and Roderick Strong against Shane Taylor Promotions’ Shane Taylor, Anthony Ogogo, Capt. Shawn Dean, Carlie Bravo, and Lee Moriarty.
AEW also confirmed that Megan Bayne and Lena Kross of Divine Dominion will face Zayda Steel and Viva Van during the Buy In broadcast. The addition of The Opps vs. The Death Riders continues AEW’s push to stack the pre-show with faction warfare and bigger names before the main pay-per-view officially begins.
