First Tennis Memory: Gosh… probably going to the Cincinnati Open to watch tennis, probably watching Maria Sharapova playing because I liked her outfits [smiles].
Tennis Inspirations: Gosh… growing up I didn’t watch much tennis except for the Cincy Open. I watched more of the female athletes based on how they were dressed [smiles].
Last Book Read: It’s been a while. I need to start reading more [laughs].
Current Car: Jeep (white).
First Famous Player You Met Or Encountered: Probably Feliciano Lopez, Cincy Open.
Greatest Career Moment: Probably winning Austin (2026).
Most Painful Moment: There was a lot of those last year [smiles].
Strangest Match: Probably two years ago in Rabat (Morocco) when I was 1-5, 15-40 in the third set. Hit a backhand on the end of the line. And came back and won the match, yeah. (Versus who?) Bronzetti.
Funny Tennis Memory: At Indian Wells at Easter Bowl. I had a roadrunner run on our court [laughs].
Why Do You Love Tennis: I just love problem solving. Being out there alone and you have to figure things out. The fight. The grind. How at a certain level, everyone can play. It’s just a matter of who’s willing to dig deeper sometimes.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Black raspberry chip [smiles].
Favorite Artist: That’s a tough one… Tame Impala.
Funniest Players Encountered: (Marketa) Vondrousova is pretty funny. I played doubles with her a couple of times. She’s cool.
People Qualities Most Admired: Usually kindness. People who are trying to radiate positivity. And being kind to others are usually the best.
