The Green Bay Packers did not accomplish many of their goals during the 2025 NFL season. While they made the playoffs as the seventh seed (again), the year was considered a disappointment by many. Green Bay did not win the NFC North, they lost their only playoff game, and they ended the season with a five-game losing streak.
2025 also saw them finally lose [multiple times] to the Chicago Bears for the first time since 2018. Indeed, the Bears split the regular season series with the Packers and knocked Green Bay out of the playoffs in the Wild Card round.
Clearly, the Packers were not thrilled with how the 2025 season went, as was evident by the roster decisions they have made this off-season. They have much higher goals for 2026, and one of them is reestablishing their dominance over Chicago.
Green Bay Packers safety Evan Williams says they are coming for the Chicago Bears

Prior to 2024, Chicago had lost nine straight games to Green Bay. While they split the season series that year and again in 2025, the Bears certainly have gained the upper hand with their postseason win over the Packers. Additionally, Chicago’s coaches and players seem to have more intensity regarding the rivalry than those in Green Bay.
At least for now. Packers safety Evan Williams hopes that will change in 2026:
“We’re not standing for it…We’re coming for them this year and all the years to come.” 👀#Packers safety @evan_williams32 on the rivalry intensifying with the Chicago Bears. 🔥

“These Bear fans, they have one winning season and they’re trying rage bait us or get a reaction out of us. No, we’re standing for it. Some high schoolers have definitely had some strong opinions about their Bear fandom, but we’re coming for them this year and all the years to come.”
Indeed, the Packers-Bears rivalry was much more heated and meaningful last year with both teams finishing in the top-two of the division. It will be very interesting to see if Green Bay will match the hatred and intensity Chicago brought last year.
If they don’t, it could be another frustrating year for the Packers.
