Shock venue could stage Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

A surprising location has emerged as a potential location to stage the super fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Fury and Joshua are on course to finally meet in a long overdue, all-British heavyweight clash in November and have both signed their contracts to fight.

The location of the bout is unknown, but according to Boxing Scene, the 70,000-seater SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California has been discussed as a possible venue to stage the bout.

Boxing insider, Dan Rafael reported that the fight is not heading to California and will instead be staged in the UK.

The long-awaited showdown hinges on the pair winning warm-up fights, with Joshua set to face Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh and Fury likely to fight in August, although an opponent has not been confirmed.

‘AJ’ will fight for the first time since stopping Jake Paul in six rounds in December.

The 36-year-old, former two-time heavyweight world champion was involved in a horror car crash 10 days’ later which took the lives of two of his close friends and left him with minor injuries.

The Joshua-Fury bout will be put on by Saudi Arabian boxing chief, Turki Alalshikh, but the debate over who will be the figurehead has been raging between promoters.

Zuffa Boxing head, Dana White has consistently said his company, which is part owned by the Public Investment Fund in Saudi Arabia, will be in charge of the promotional duties.

Both Joshua’s handler, Eddie Hearn and Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren have insisted the contract states that Zuffa cannot be involved in the bout.

“Have they announced where that fight is?” White said when asked by Pro Boxing Fans on Saturday.

“I know where it is.

“Do you think that I would publicly lie and then look like a f***ing idiot in front of everyone?

“What would be the point of that?”
