Vancouver Canucks Offseason Trade Talks

Vancouver Canucks offseason trade talks

Daily Faceoff: David Pagnotta, on DFO Rundown with Irfaan Gaffar, talking about the Vancouver Canucks and potential trade talks.

“We know the direction of the Vancouver Canucks is rebuild, and they started that whole thing this season. Took them a while to admit it, but they got there.

I expect more changes on the ice to occur this offseason. I think they explore Jake DeBrusk. I think they’re going to have more (Elias Pettersson) talks. I think they’re going to look at making other type of, of roster moves as they dive head first into into this rebuild this summer. Regardless of where they pick in the draft as well.

NHL Rumors: Alex Tuch and Buffalo Sabres Put Contract Talks Aside For Now

Sportsnet 650: Canucks forward Elias Pettersson wants to stay in Vancouver.

Pettersson: “I like it here, this feels like home. I signed here for a reason. We’ve got good pieces here, so just try to build a good team.”

Sekeres and Price: David Pagnotta on the Sekeres and Price show on the Canucks having some trade talks involving Elias Pettersson this offseason.

“He’s got an $11 million price tag per season. The Canucks don’t want to eat on that. I don’t think anything has changed in that regard, but I do anticipate conversations happening this summer involving, involving Petey.

Whether that, something starts to move the needle? I don’t know. It’s, if I knew how to do that, I’d probably be up for the job. But I don’t, I don’t think they fully figure that out yet either.

NHL Rumors: Detroit Red Wings, and the Winnipeg Jets

But I do think they have options, or at least an understanding as to which teams would like to explore this a little bit more this summer. I think a lot of due diligence was made leading up to the trade deadline, and I think those conversations will begin at some point later on, once the, once the summer gets going.
